The Site for this year’s ISDS World Sheep Dog Trials at Tullamore
The Charleville Estate was one of the most beautiful sites I have ever seen!
The main field looking over the old Hutton-Bury family Castle gave the Trial
Field the feeling of old Irish History. This castle was open to visitors to
have a look around and it was absolutely magnificent. As well as the Castle
being very well looked after, you could tell that the fields and woods
surrounding it were just as carefully looked after. The estate is used for
quite a few different Irish countryside events and shows and so they were well
accustomed to setting up tents, making sure everyone had water, etc., all the
little things that make a show work so well. So to be the host for such an event
as this World Trial, it was of no great concern for the staff of the estate.
