The top Border Collie trial in the world, the International Sheep Dog Society (ISDS) Finals.
If you have the chance to travel to this event you’ll see the top Border Collie handlers and some of the
finest working sheepdogs to be found anywhere. You can go onto the International Sheep Dog Society (ISDS)
site to check out dates for these sheep dog events. Remember the Nationals are held in the fall of the
year and cover a month and a half and then the ISDS finals are held in early to mid September. Working
Border Collies at their finest from the home of the working sheepdog.
Saturday evening is usually my chance to relax and this year I was asked
to join a group of Border Collie handlers for supper. It was a very pleasant
evening!
Sunday is spent looking for some scenery to go with the program. Last year
I went up to Jock Welsh's farm, outside Stranraer, and filmed him on the hill,
working his dogs. This year, although I tried, everyone was taking the day
off and so I just went and traveled around looking for some landscape footage
before heading back to England and my trip back home.

In the days following I spent my time sipping on a good pint of beer while
writing up my notes and continuing on with my script, logging some of the video
tapes and marking and securing them, and then organizing all my production
equipment for the security at the airports. And then the boring trip back
to HQ.
